Here begins something new for me. An all-things color and design blog.

I plan on celebrating with colors of inspiration. Design, furnishings, lighting, fabrics, hardware, accessories and architecture. Finding beautiful and well-designed objects is always something that has captured my imagination. This is not about cost, it’s about good design.
I remember learning how to realistically paint fur and velvet. I remember when I first locked eyes on Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona chair.
And when I studied Andrea Palladio’s Renaissance Villa La Rotunda. There are so many beautiful things in this world that need to be treasured, regarded, preserved, enjoyed.

I am no expert. I simply want to share what I enjoy, and I hope you will enjoy it with me. Pick a color. Be inspired.
Needless to say, the first color is pink. At least this pink. There are a myriad of names for pink.
And “Yes, pink was likely the first color of life on Earth.  Smithsonian Magazine reported that researchers discovered bright pink pigments in 1.1-billion-year-old fossilized cyanobacteria in West Africa. These ancient pigments, derived from chlorophyll, would have given the early oceans a pinkish hue when diluted. According to Smithsonian Magazine, this discovery predates the modern perception of blue oceans and green plant life”. 2018.
